This week, we proudly recognize Adult Education and Family Literacy Week — a time to reflect on the power of education and its role in building stronger communities. At WFSDallas, we believe that learning should never stop, no matter your age or stage in life.

We are committed to supporting adult learners across Dallas County by offering free educational opportunities that foster personal and professional growth. Through partnerships with eligible local providers, we offer Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) services that help individuals improve their reading, writing, math, and English language skills, all in flexible program models tailored to meet diverse needs.

Our Adult Education and Literacy Programs Include:

  • High School Equivalency (GED)
Get the support you need to earn your GED and open new doors for your future.
  • English Language Learning
Strengthen your English speaking, reading, and writing skills to enhance communication and job readiness.
  • Career Training Courses
Access workforce training and earn industry-recognized certifications to help you secure better job opportunities.

“The Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas AEL program is designed for individuals seeking to enhance their literacy skills and acquire the competencies necessary to fully engage in their communities. It provides a foundation for individuals to enhance their literacy skills, which starts them on a career pathway. Without these essential skills, people are often confined to survival jobs and lack the economic mobility necessary to achieve self-sufficiency. The AEL program is a vital resource for individuals seeking to enhance their literacy and advance their careers,” said Rachael Berhe, Workforce Education and Literacy Manager.

Let’s celebrate lifelong learning, support adult learners, and recognize the life-changing impact of education. Together, we’re building a brighter future for Dallas County — one learner at a time.
