In honor of National Workforce Development Month, we are honoring our programs that transform lives and fuel our workforce. WFSDallas offers comprehensive support, training, and education for job seekers, youth, veterans, and employers.
Bridging Gaps with Training Opportunities
- Adult Education & Literacy (AEL): Prepare for a GED or improve English, math, and reading skills to unlock career pathways.
- Career Services: Personalized coaching for resume crafting, interview prep, online workshops, and training with financial aid for eligible participants.
- Apprenticeship Programs, Including the Texas FAME initiative: Paid “Earn-while-you-learn”
- On-the-Job-Training and Pre-Apprenticeships: Real-life experience with financial support to help participants gain marketable skills.
- WIOA-Funded High-Demand Training: Targeted career training in growing fields, paired with job placement and support services like childcare and transportation.
Local Success: Irving ISD CDL Training with 100% Pass Rate

Adding power to these program offerings is our CDL training partnership with Irving ISD. In the most recent cohort, every single participant passed the CDL Exam — achieving a 100% pass rate, and all are now officially licensed CDL drivers. This outcome is a testament to effective training, strong support systems, and student resilience.
Why this Matters to Our Community
These programs do more than advance individual careers. They help:
- Narrow the skills gap in critical sectors like logistics, manufacturing, IT, and healthcare.
- Build economic resilience by aligning training with real employer demand.
- Support communities through better jobs.
- Provide second-chance and veteran-specific opportunities, ensuring that barriers like criminal background or military transition don’t derail success.
