In honor of Veterans Month, WFSDallas is proud to celebrate and honor our veterans, highlighting the variety of valuable resources available to them. We are committed to serving veterans and their eligible spouses with a range of specialized services.
Veterans who have been honorably discharged, along with eligible spouses, receive priority access to workforce services at our centers. This includes:
Resources: Access to computers, phones, fax machines, and referrals to the latest job postings.
Staff Assistance: Prompt, dedicated support from our knowledgeable team members.
Training Programs: Priority enrollment in training programs for which you qualify and for which funding is available.
Eligible spouses include those who are married to a totally disabled veteran, those whose spouse is currently MIA or forcibly detained while on active duty, or those whose spouse has died as a result of a service-connected disability.
Co-Located Texas Veterans Commission Counselors
In addition to our in-house services, Texas Veterans Commission counselors are available on-site at our workforce centers to provide specialized support. These counselors offer:
Benefit Connection: Assistance in understanding and accessing a wide range of veterans’ benefits.
Personalized Support: One-on-one counseling to address your unique needs and goals.
Employment Assistance: Guidance in finding job opportunities and building a fulfilling career path.
Resource Referrals: Access to additional community-based resources and services.

We Hire Vets Program
The We Hire Vets program recognizes Texas employers who are dedicated to hiring veterans. Employers with at least 10% of their workforce made up of military veterans can earn a “We Hire Vets” decal for their storefront and a digital version for their website.
Hiring veterans and their spouses not only brings valuable skills to the workplace, but it also helps reduce turnover and create a more stable, dedicated workforce. Employers who participate may also qualify for up to $9,600 in federal tax credits through the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program.
