Irving ISD is proud to announce the successful completion of its very first pre-apprenticeship program in Auto Body and Collision Repair—a major milestone in our commitment to workforce development and hands-on career training.
This program is part of an Integrated Education and Training (IET) model in collaboration with the Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program. It’s designed to equip adult learners with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to launch a career in the automotive repair industry.
Throughout the course, students gained real-world experience in key areas of auto body and collision repair. Their hard work paid off: all participants earned Automotive Basics completion certificates and Polyvance Plastics Repair certifications—credentials that validate their training and demonstrate their readiness for the workforce.
What makes this program even more exciting is what comes next. These students are now prepared to take the next step in their career journey by entering a formal apprenticeship with the Automotive Apprenticeship Group (AAG), a valuable partner dedicated to growing talent in the automotive industry.
We’re incredibly proud of our graduates for their dedication and determination. Programs like this one not only open doors to in-demand careers, but also show the power of accessible, skills-based education.
