Jyren Thomas: Aviation Mechanic Student

After facing challenges and dropping out of high school, Jyren found a new direction after being introduced to aviation mechanics. Realizing he needed his GED to chase that dream, Jyren enrolled in the AEL program at Irving ISD. Today, he’s proudly pursuing his passion in mechanic aviation school. His story is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to rewrite your future. 

Kaitlyn Francois : Destination Success Dallas Peer Mentor

Before moving to Texas in 2023, Kaitlyn Francois had never heard of the Texas Workforce Commission and all of its wonderful services. That all changed when a friend introduced her to the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) Young Adult Program. After enrolling and completing the 3 day job readiness class, facilitators saw her potential and recommended her for a peer mentor position.

Kaitlyn currently serves as a mentor in the WIOA Young Adult Program while pursuing her degree in human services at Liberty University. After graduation, she hopes to become a grief counselor, using her own experiences to help others navigate life’s challenges. Her journey with WFSDallas has not only shaped her career aspirations but also deepened her commitment to supporting and empowering others to create positive change in their lives.
