WFSDallas officially launched a new community canvassing campaign in partnership with Groundwork Outreach on December 16 at the Pleasant Grove Workforce Center. The kickoff event gave WFSDallas staff an opportunity to see firsthand how canvassing efforts will help connect Dallas residents to vital employment services.
Groundwork Outreach canvassers will engage directly with residents to better understand the barriers that may be preventing them from accessing workforce services. Using tablets, canvassers will survey residents and provide information about job training, employment opportunities, and other resources available through WFSDallas.
Over the next several months, Groundwork Outreach will canvass four North Texas communities around WFSDallas workforce centers: Pleasant Grove, Irving, Grand Prairie, and International District. While each area is located near a workforce center, many residents may be unaware of the wide range of services WFSDallas offers.
This campaign aims to bridge that gap, by raising awareness, removing access barriers, and ensuring more residents can take advantage of job training and employment resources designed to support long-term career success.
