February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, a time to spotlight programs that prepare students for high-skill, in-demand careers. At Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas (WFSDallas), we are proud to support CTE by connecting education and industry to help build a strong, future-ready workforce.

Through our Education Outreach Specialists, WFSDallas partners with schools across the region to raise awareness of career pathways and connect students with real-world opportunities.

What Is Career and Technical Education?

Career and Technical Education provides students of all ages with the academic, technical, and employability skills needed to succeed in today’s workforce. Through specialized, high-demand programs developed in partnership with local industries, CTE spans fields such as skilled trades, STEM, healthcare, business, and many more.
These programs allow students to earn industry-recognized credentials, certifications, or college credit, supporting both direct entry into the workforce and continued education.

Celebrating Success

We are proud to celebrate one of our partners, Mesquite ISD, which was recently named a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT). This recognition highlights the district’s outstanding commitment to preparing students for career success.

As we celebrate CTE month, we applaud the educators, students, and partners who make career readiness possible. Together, we are building pathways that lead to opportunity, innovation, and long-term success across our region.
