Awards honor outstanding workforce partnerships in Texas

Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas (WFSDallas) is proud to recognize the Omni Dallas Hotel as the region’s 2025 Local Employer of Excellence. The Omni received the award at the Texas Workforce Commission’s (TWC) 28th Annual Texas Workforce Conference held Dec. 3 – Dec. 5, 2025, in Corpus Christi. Local Workforce Development Boards nominate employers who make a positive impact on workers, the community, and the state through their partnerships with Texas Workforce Solutions.

The Omni Dallas Hotel plays a pivotal role in our workforce system. They are constantly active in the community by participating at events, and they invest meaningfully in their own team, empowering employees with valuable training, career advancement opportunities, and pathways to long-term success.

“Companies like the Omni Dallas Hotel are helping to build a more prosperous Texas through their commitment to responsible business practices and meaningful community engagement,” said TWC Commissioner Representing the Public Brent Connett. “TWC recognizes and applauds the Omni’s efforts to make positive impacts on employees, their families, and the entire Lone Star State.”

It was a milestone year for Dallas County employers. WFSDallas also took home three out of six state-wide awards announced at the Conference. WFSDallas nominated Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, which was recognized as the Veteran-Friendly Employer of the Year Award winner. Veteran outreach is a core component of Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages’ talent acquisition strategy. The company consistently participates in job fairs and hosts recruitment events tailored specifically to veterans, ensuring a personalized and informed hiring experience that meets veterans where they are.

“Having four Dallas County partnerships recognized by the state is a testament to the significant contributions being made to drive economic growth and advance workforce development in our area,” said Laura Ward, President and CEO of WFSDallas. “We are grateful to each award winner for their partnership and their dedication to creating pathways to long-term success for our workforce.”

WFSDallas also nominated Kearney Compounding Pharmacy, which earned the HireAbility Employer of the Year Award. Kearney Compounding Pharmacy, a family-owned business in Mesquite, Texas, has demonstrated a strong and sustained commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities in the workforce. Through thoughtful hiring practices and active community partnerships, they continue to promote a more inclusive and accessible Texas workforce system. As a proud employer partner of the Summer Earn and Learn (SEAL) program, Kearney has provided meaningful work experiences for students with disabilities over the past two years.

WFSDallas also nominated Dallas College, which accepted the All-Star College Award winner. The All-Star College of the Year Award recognizes a community college, technical college, or Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service that has strengthened the Texas workforce system and its local community through programs that enhance worker skills and address business needs. Dallas College plays a pivotal role in the Texas workforce system by delivering innovative, industry-aligned education and training programs that fuel economic growth across the region. Serving more than 125,000 students, employing over 6,000 staff members, and operating with a $422 million budget, Dallas College generates nearly $4 billion in annual economic impact. In fact, one in every 49 jobs in Dallas County is directly supported by the college’s activities—a powerful testament to its essential role in workforce development.
