Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas (WFSDallas) officially celebrated the grand opening of its new Garland Workforce Center on February 26th, welcoming community leaders, partners, and residents to mark the launch of a new hub for career services and employer support in Garland.
As the 13th largest city in Texas and one of the top 100 in the U.S., Garland relies on a strong pipeline of skilled, ready-to-work talent to sustain its growth, and the newly opened Garland Workforce Center will serve as a hub offering training, providing resources, and connecting residents and employers across the region.
The grand opening event commemorated the new center with remarks from community leaders, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours of the facility. Speakers included Harry Jones, WFSDallas Board Chair; Laura Ward, WFSDallas CEO and President; The Honorable Clay Lewis Jenkins, Dallas County Judge; and Dylan Hedrick, Mayor of Garland, as well as many other honored guests.
“The Garland Workforce Center and our other centers are more than just buildings,” said Harry Jones, Board Chair of WFSDallas. “They are engines for economic growth. By equipping our workforce with essential skills and connecting them to meaningful careers, we are not only meeting job market demands but also building a more competitive, adaptable, and prosperous community for everyone.”
The new center replaces a previous Garland location, which served approximately 4,500 customers annually. The expanded, modern facility is designed to increase service capacity and enhance the customer experience with high-tech classrooms for skills training, professional suites for on-site employer interviews, and dedicated space for career coaching and employer engagement.
The Garland Workforce Center will provide customers with access to career guidance, job search assistance, skills training opportunities, and direct connections to employers. It will support key industries that power Garland’s economy, including healthcare, manufacturing, construction, retail trade, and other high-demand sectors.
“We exist to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity,” said Laura Ward, President and CEO of WFSDallas. “With that in mind, we chose this central location near public transit carefully to reduce access barriers, make it easier for talent to meet opportunity, and help even more people realize what is possible for their careers.”
Located at 530 Clara Barton Blvd., Suite 270 in Garland, Texas, the Garland Workforce Center is open for business Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m..
WFSDallas operates seven workforce centers throughout Dallas County and will be opening two new centers very soon. For a list of locations and additional information about our workforce centers visit https://www.wfsdallas.com/find-a-center/.
