Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas (WFSDallas) has been honored with the prestigious 2025 Workforce Excellence Award by the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC), recognizing its exceptional impact in workforce development across the state.
The TEDC Workforce Excellence Awards celebrate Texas communities and regions that have successfully implemented innovative and effective workforce initiatives. WFSDallas stood out among honorees in its category for the STAR initiative, a phased, multi-level training program designed to upskill underrepresented job seekers and connect them with high-demand career opportunities.

The STAR initiative (Skilled Trades Advancement Readiness) has already supported over 60 individuals in gaining the skills, certifications, and confidence needed to secure employment in skilled trades. The program focuses on removing barriers and building sustainable career pathways for individuals historically underrepresented in the workforce.
